A bodyguard deployed for Sachin Tendulkar's security misfired while testing his pistol at the player's residence at Bandra (West) on Saturday. The police made a diary entry of the incident.
The bodyguard, Chandrasen Ramchandra (35) had joined the duty on day shift and a constable who was on night duty had handed him the weapon after he removed the magazine, although a bullet remained in the pistol. He was standing at the gate of the building Lamer. Chandrasen believed that the pistol was empty so he tried to test the trigger and it misfired and injured his finger. He belongs to the protection branch of the Mumbai police and was provided first-aid at Leelavati Hospital.
