I'll cherish Tendulkar's wicket: B Kumar
More than the five-wicket haul, Uttar Pradesh pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar said on Monday that he would cherish getting master batsman Sachin Tendulkar's scalp on the opening day of the Ranji Trophy Super League final here.
Bhuvneshwar picked up five of the six Mumbai wickets that fell after putting on 297 on the opening day.
Among the batsmen Bhuvneshwar dismissed was Tendulkar, who fell for a duck. The pacer ended the day with 5/64 haul.
"The pitch contributed to my good spell. I will cherish the moment, particularly getting the big wicket of Tendulkar," he told reporters after the end of day's play.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma and Abhishek Nayar, who salvaged the Mumbai innings together with a partnership of 207 runs, hoped their partnership would come in handy for Mumbai who were reeling at 55 for four at one stage.
"It's a lucky ground for me. UP have a good bowling attack. We needed to do well together after we were 55 for four," Rohit said.
