Sachin Tendulkar claims to have caught Tim McIntosh's edge to the slips

Sachin Tendulkar's low catch that sent New Zealand opener Tim McIntosh back to the pavilion in the second innings today came under the scanner with Kiwi coach Andy Moles questioning the on-field umpires decision not to revert it to the third umpire.

While Moles claimed the catch was not taken cleanly, Tendulkar said he was "100 per cent confident."

In the first over of New Zealand's second innings, McIntosh, who managed 12 in the first essay, edged Zaheer Khan towards first slip where Tendulkar dived forward and took a low catch.

On-field umpires Simon Taufel of Australia and England's Ian Gould, rather than referring it to the third umpire, gave their verdict against the opener.

"You all saw the TV shots and yes we would be disappointed. But it is part of the game unfortunately. Tim is trying to make his way in the game and he is desperately disappointed," Moles said when asked about McIntosh's dismissal.

"I think it would be fair to say that we were surprised that it wasn't referred. The guys (umpires) thought they saw it as they did and they made a decision based on what they had seen between them. It is disappointing. But they gave a decision as they saw it and we get on with the game," Moles said.

Tendulkar, though, was sure he had taken the catch cleanly.

"I was 100 per cent confident that I had taken the catch. I have seen the replays and I have also seen my fingers under the ball. If the umpires were in doubt they would have definitely called for the third umpire," said the Indian maestro who scored his 42nd Test century today.
