Poll panel to campaign too - for votes

The Election Commission will launch a campaign during the Lok Sabha elections too - to motivate the people to vote, Chief Election Commissioner N. Gopalaswami said Saturday.Speaking to reporters here, he said: 'We are contemplating using star campaigners to make voters aware about the (importance of voting).'He did not give details, but a poll panel source said Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Sachin Tendulkar were being contacted to take part in the campaign.Gopalaswami said: 'We are concerned about the dwindling participation of the common people in (elections). Low turnout is not a good sign for such an important democratic process.'
