IPL 2010 : Mumbai Indians! Duniya Hilla Denge!

Sachin Tendulkar is behind today's window as Eurosport-Yahoo! counts down the days to Christmas with a special advent calendar, a ranking of the decade's greatest sporting stars.
CRICKET India's Sachin Tendulkar raises his bat to acknowledge the crowd after being dismissed for 138 runs during the finals of the tri-nations one-day international cricket series against Sri Lanka in Colombo - 0

Each day we open the next window on the calendar to reveal a sporting great from the last 10 years, and on December 24 we name the star at the top of the Christmas tree! Scroll to the bottom of the page to find out how it works.
DECEMBER 18 - No 7: SACHIN TENDULKAR (CRICKET)
Sporting ability: 8/10 - The Little Master is one of the most elegant batsmen to play the game. An exquisite timer of the ball.
Sporting success: 8/10 - Staggeringly prolific - although almost half of his 12,970 Test runs were scored before the start of the decade.
Popularity: 10/10 - Incredibly popular in his native India. Few sportsmen enjoy the same fervent support as Tendulkar, who has somehow retained his humility throughout 20 years of hero-worship from a billion people.
Marketability: 7/10 - Big brands are queueing up to hand him lucrative endorsement deals, although his name lacks global appeal.
X-Factor: 6/10 - Outside India, Tendulkar is 'merely' one of the best, not the best. His Test record is no better than Ricky Ponting's, for example.
TOTAL: 39/50 - Scores very highly on account of his massive popularity in his home country, and is certainly the decade's pre-eminent cricket star. But the sport's relatively low global profile prevents him scaling the heights of the top five.
