India's Sachin Tendulkar became the first batsman to complete 13,000 runs in Test cricket during the opening match against Bangladesh here on Sunday.
Tendulkar, 36, achieved the feat when he hit Bangladesh off-spinner Mohammad Mahmudullah for a four to take his score to 32.
At tea, the Indians were 6-160 with Tendulkar not out 50.
Tendulkar is the world's leading scorer in Test and one-day internationals (17,394) and has scored the most number of centuries in both forms of the game.
