IPL 2010 : Mumbai Indians! Duniya Hilla Denge!

Mumbai: Melody queen Lata Mangeshkar was all praise for Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who made a scintillating double century against South Africa at Gwalior on Wednesday
Talking to Spicezee, Lata Mangeshkar said that she prays to God that Sachin plays like this always and brings more laurels to the country. A huge Sachin fan, she said that while watching the match she was sure that Sachin will have a good game but his double century was unexpected.

When enquired on her memorable cricket moment, Lata said that her favourite match has to be India versus Australia in Sharjah.

The jubilant legendary singer, who is planning to sing for mainstream Bollywood after 25 years, also said that she remained seated in the same position throughout the match.

Talking about Sachin, lyricist Javed Akhtar also gushed, “All of us either move forward or backward but Sachin Tendulkar is only going forward.”

“Perfectionism is a sort of an oasis in a desert but Sachin seems to have reached there.” Akhtar added.

Tendulkar became the first ever player to score a double hundred in the almost four decade old history of one day internationals.

The previous record for highest score in one-dayers was held jointly Saeed Anwar of Pakistan (1997 vs India) and Charles Coventry of Zimbabwe (2009 vs Bangladesh).
