IPL 2010 : Mumbai Indians! Duniya Hilla Denge!

It may not come as surprise who the crowd favourite is when it comes to cricket matches being played in India. The answer is pretty simply, when the God himself is playing, everyone and  everything takes a back seat. On the eve of the highly anticipated match between the Rajasthan Royals and the Mumbai Indians here at Jaipur’s SMS Stadium, the stakes are pretty high to get hold of match tickets because everyone wants to be present when master blaster Sachin Tendulkar takes guard against Warne’s men and more specifically against the spin wizard himself.

The organisers have already announced that the tickets for this game has been sold out, no wonder hundreds of fans who had queued up this morning to get tickets were left disappointed and had to return empty handed.
“I wanted to buy 3 tickets for my family but they are saying that tickets are no longer available. Its really sad as we really wanted to see Sachin batting here at Jaipur. Its been a long time since he has played here.” said Rahul Kumar a fan.
“These guys do not put up good number of tickets for sale to the general public and reserve it for only VIPs and other guests. Its really disappointing that I wont be able to see Tendulkar bat”. , quipped another.
There was another group of young enthusiasts standing close to the main gates who actually paid double the amount for the tickets as they had bought it from a ticket reseller :
“We went to the ticket counter to buy the tickets and were told that its no longer available. There were a couple of guys standing nearby who told us they can arrange for the tickets if we paid Rs. 1200 for it. We bought 5 tickets from them as we had planned see this match at the stadium itself because Sachin is playing.” – said 21 year old Mohit, an avid Tendulkar follower.
It may come as no surprise as to what the Jaipur crowd wants from sunday’s match, a Tendulkar special and yet a Rajasthan win. It would be interesting to see who gets the loudest cheer, Sachin or Warne or Pathan maybe? Given the record the RR have in their own backyard, it would be difficult for keep the crowd at bay.
Rajasthan need to win at-least 2 games out of the remaining 3 matches in order to qualify for the semi-finals. Mumbai on the other hand has been the best team so far this season, despite two back to back losses at the hands of Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab. Sachin would be hoping to seal the semi-final berths for Mumbai Indians in tomorrow’s game itself.
The earlier encounter between these 2 sides saw Mumbai surviving Pathan’s 37 ball 10o and registering their first win of the season. Going by current form of both the teams, it would surely be another cracker of a game.
