IPL 2010 : Mumbai Indians! Duniya Hilla Denge!

Despite the batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar breaking almost all batting records in Tests and One-Day internationals, the world seems to be waiting with baited-breath for him to overtake Brian Lara’s aggregate of 11,953 Test runs during the Sri Lankan series starting on July 23.

The master-blaster would have probably loved to have achieved this feat in front of his home crowd but the Sri Lanka Cricket Board chief and World Cup winning skipper Arjuna Ranatunga is sure that the true Sri Lankan cricket fan will rejoice his success with as much gusto.

"Everyone in Lanka is keen to see him bat in real cricket and not cow-boy (shorter version) cricket. There are no words to describe him. One has to just look at his record. It says everything. He is the best batsman I have seen," Ranatunga has been quoted as saying in the Mid-Day on Tuesday.

The odds (of breaking the record) are strongly in favour of the Indian star as he needs just 172 runs to set the new record by overtaking the Trinidadian.

Tendulkar has scored 11,782 Test runs so far and if you go by the form shown by him in the three-day side game, he could get to the magic figure sooner than later.

Moreover, the Sinhalese Sports Club is one of his favourite hunting grounds as he averaging 114 runs per innings with three centuries and a fifty from three Test matches.
