IPL 2010 : Mumbai Indians! Duniya Hilla Denge!

Sachin Tendulkar, who has been ruled out for the entire five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, is unlikely to have developed a tennis elbow injury again, according to his London-based surgeon Dr Andrew Wallace.

Speaking from London on Monday morning minutes after Sachin's unavailibility for the One-day series due to his elbow injury was known, he said, "Unless I get more details about the injury, it is difficult to comment on this. However, I can say it is unusual to have tennis elbow again."

Dr Wallace first performed a surgery on Sachin's tennis elbow on May 25, 2005. India's then physio John Gloster had referred Sachin to this doctor. "Sachin is welcome to seek my advice on this new injury (on the same hand)," he said. Dr Wallace refused to say whether Sachin has been in touch with him ever since the surgery. "I can't reveal the confidentiality of my patient," he said.

However, what Dr Wallace did confirm was, "I have been following his cricketing career with interest. I am also aware about the fact that he has missed the world record of scoring the most runs in Test cricket."

Dr Wallace is a researcher and a senior lecturer at Imperial College and a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London.
