CHANDIGARH: Though the master retired due to dehydration and cramps against Chennai Super Kings in their away match on Tuesday night, Sachin Tendulkar looked fresh and cheerful as he led Mumbai Indians side into a city hotel here on Wednesday. The IPL table-toppers will cross swords with bottom-ranked Kings XI Punjab at the PCA stadium (Mohali) here on Friday.
Sporting an MI team T-shirt and clad in blue denims, Sachin hogged the limelight the moment he checked in, with camerapersons jostling to get a good shot of the legend.
Though Kieron Pollard, the most expensive buy in IPL 3, his Caribbean teammate Dwayne Bravo, along with other big names like Harbhajan Singh, Lasith Malinga and Jean-Paul Duminy were not far behind, the heavy security surrounding the second highest run scorer in IPL 3 (394 in 8 matches at 49.25) made it clear that when Sachin is around, others have to take the back seat.
However, soon after entering the hotel, Sachin went straight inside, disappointing the journalists. Despite having played on Tuesday night, most MI players - barring Sachin Tendulkar and Harbhajan Singh - went to the PCA stadium for a training session under lights.
